Yamamoto New Scalp Acupuncture (YNSA) is a completely new concept for humans, developed around 1970 and first officially announced in 1973 by Dr. Yamamoto in Japan. YNSA is quite a different system from Chinese scalp acupuncture. YNSA is classified as a somatic representation or microsystem comparable to other well-known microsystems, such as ear (auriculotherapy), mouth, nose, hand or foot acupuncture.

After 5 years of clinical study I recognized that canines/felines also have a YNSA system and that it can be utilized for treatment of, for example, locomotory and nervous system disorders. However, the canine/feline YNSA system is not exactly the same as that for humans, but is rather simple in comparison.
